As part of our Art work after the SATs, the children used their clay skills to create their own version of The Great Wave by Hokusai.

Year 6 have working on their Design Technology skills this week in Designing, Making and Evaluating an African Safari Hide.

The children used previously developed skills with woodwork (Cams in Autumn) to create a cube or cuboid structure. They worked independently to add legs, ladders, walls, floors and camouflage to produce a unique Safari Hide. I was very impressed with how well the children tackled this project, producing some excellent frame structures.

Friday 14th October

Thank you to all the parents and family members who were able to attend our class assembly this morning.

Year 6 have been working on their performance techniques whilst reading a range of poems aloud. The class have worked in small groups to discuss their given poem and thought about how it, and other whole class poems, could be performed. In doing this, the children managed to learn lots of their poems off by heart. This English work contributed to our class assembly today; I think the children did a great job performing in front of a rather large audience. Well done Year 6.

Welcome back to your final year at Ladbrooke.

Thank you to the parents who were able to attend my parent meeting, where I went over our class information leaflet. If you have nay questions please don't hesitate to find me in school or contact me via email - htiller@ladbrooke.herts.sch.uk

The children have settlled briliantly into year 6 life and have, already, been working very hard.

I mentioned in my parent meeting that I would add the suggested websites to help support your children at home to our class page. The children already have their DoodleMaths, Teams and TTRockstars to be getting on with, so please don't feel like this is compulsory, they are just suggestions for further learning in English and Maths.

Thank you for your continued support.
