Year 6

Thank you to the parents and family members who attended our class assembly today.

As part of our English work this week, the children have been studying different types of poems. We concentrated on poems which can be performed and the children worked in groups to come up with their own ways of performing their given poem. All of the class produced their own poems for the 'Young Writers' poetry competition which will be sent off next week and some children wanted to read theirs aloud for our assembly. 

I think that the children did a fantastic job with their poems, creating actions, taking account of pace, rhythm and volume and performing infront of a large audience.

Welcome back to a new school term.

I hope you all had a great holiday. The children have come back excited to get started and have already produced some excellent work - Iong may it continue.

Year 6 have been working hard on their song writing skills in our Music lessons, helped along the way by Ms Andrews.

Have a listen to their Leaver's song entitled 'Wish We Were Young' 

They are looking forward to performing it at the end of term.
