After an invitation from Arsenal Football club, Ladbrooke sent a squad of ten footballers to compete in the Arsenal Double Club Tournament.  The day was, of course, split into two halves!  In the morning we played some football matches and then later, we all took part in a literacy activity - this was particularly about ladies football and the whole team produced a super discussion about the need to take women's sport as seriously as mens sport.  The team won some games and drew some games and only lost out to two other teams in very close matches.

At the end of the day, when all the points had been collected from the football matches, the literacy session and points had been awarded for attitude and fair play, Ladbrooke School were announced as the winners by two points.  All the children were presented with a medal to recognise their achievement and we were given two posters to award to the children who we felt had been competitive but who had also shown good sporting spirit throughout the day.  After careful consideration, Mr Ward, who had accompanied the children to the tournament, announced that these had been awarded to Alban and Stephanie.  Well done to all who took part. We are very proud of your achievements.
